London 2012 Day #5 – USA IS GOING STRONG!

It’s the fifth day of the XXX Olympics in London. Team USA is tied with Team China at 27 medals each. Throughout the day yesterday, and overnight, USA Olympians were awarded the following medals!

Cycling – Road – Gold Medal won by Kristin Armstrong for Women’s Individual Time Trial

Diving – Bronze Medal won by Troy Dumais and Kristian Ipsen for Men’s Synchronised 3m Springboard

Gymnastics – Artistic – Gold Medal won by Kyla Ross, Jordyn Wieber, Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney, and Alexandra Raisman (The Fab Five) for Women’s Team

Gymnastics – Artistic – Bronze Medal won by Danell Leyva for Men’s Individual All-Around

Rowing – Bronze Medal won by Natalie Dell, Kara Kohler, Megan Kalmoe, and Adrienne Martelli for Women’s Quadruple Sculls

Swimming – Gold Medal won by Allison Schmitt for Women’s 200m Freestyle

Swimming – Gold Medal won by Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer, Ricky Berens, and Michael Phelps for Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay

Swimming – Silver Medal won by Michael Phelps for Men’s 200m Butterfly

Swimming – Bronze Medal won by Caitlin Leverenz for Women’s 200m Individual Medley

Many of Team USA’s Olympians are competing for medals today:

Swimming – Cammile Adams and Kathleen Hershey are both competing for a medal in the Women’s 200m Butterfly at 3:12pm

Swimming – Nathan Adrian will be going for a medal in the Men’s 100m Freestyle at 3:20pm

Fencing – Mariel Zagunis will be trying for a Bronze Medal in Women’s Individual Sabre at 3:40pm

Swimming – Team USA’s Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay swim team will be competing at 4:04pm

Just like yesterday, there are a couple of team sports that you may want to watch this evening!

Women’s Volleyball – USA vs. China at 3pm

Women’s Basketball – USA vs. Turkey at 5pm

Women’s Beach Volleyball – USA vs. Austria at 6pm
