USA IS IN THE LEAD IN THE MEDAL COUNT! USA: 82, China: 77, and Russia pulls into third with 53. The following medals were awarded since I last posted:

Athletics – Gold Medal won by Allyson Felix for Women’s 200m

Athletics – Gold Medal won by Brittney Reese for Women’s Long Jump

Athletics – Silver Medal won by Jason Richardson for Men’s 110m Hurdles

Athletics – Silver Medal won by Lashinda Demus for Women’s 400m Hurdles

Athletics – Bronze Medal won by Carmelita Jeter for Women’s 200m

Athletics – Bronze Medal won by Janay Deloach for Women’s Long Jump

Beach Volleyball – Gold Medal won by Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh for Women’s Beach Volleyball

Beach Volleyball – Silver Medal won by April Ross and Jennifer Kessy for Women’s Beach Volleyball

Swimming – Silver Medal won by Haley Anderson for Women’s 10km Marathon

Wrestling – Bronze Medal won by Clarissa Kyoko Mei Ling Chun for Women’s 48kg Freestyle

YAY USA! With only a couple of days left, some of the team sports are now getting to medal matches. Here are some athletes that will be going for the gold (or silver, or bronze) today!

Wrestling – Kelsey Campbell goes for the Bronze Medal at 12:55pm in Women’s 55kg Freestyle

Athletics – Will Claye and Christian Taylor go for the gold in Men’s Triple Jump at 2:20pm

Women’s Water Polo – USA vs. Spain for the Gold Medal at 3pm

Athletics – Duane Solomon and Nick Symmonds try for their own medals in Men’s 800m at 3pm

Athletics – Watch Wallace Spearman in the Men’s 200m at 3:55pm

Women’s Football (Soccer) – USA vs. Japan for the Gold Medal at 4:45pm

The only team game going on today, for Team USA at least, is:

Women’s Basketball – USA vs. Australia at 12pm (Semifinal)
